American actress Meagan Good and her beau of over a year Jonathan Majors are engaged.
The loved up pair revealed the good news while making an appearance at the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles, where Good showed off her diamond ring, per E! Online.
The couple explained that they chose to make the big revelation during that gala as it was where they met, noting that it “holds a special place in their hearts.”
Good and Majors began their love story in May 2023 after a turbulent time in the latter’s life.
He had just had a highly publicized split with ex-partner Grace Jabbari. The actor was arrested over an alleged domestic dispute with his ex, and his career was heavily impacted by the case.
Through it all, Good has stood by his side and maintained her unwavering support.
The Hollywood Reporter notes: “The Shazam! actress was a near constant presence in court during the three-week trial. In December, Majors was found guilty of one count of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment, and in April this year he was sentenced to a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program.”
The report adds that prior to his conviction, Majors was considered a rising star in Hollywood.
“[He]was set to be a central figure of phase six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring as the main villain Kang the Conqueror in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Disney fired Majors after he was convicted and re-tooled phase six.”
Another project was shelved, but now, months on, the actor is getting some reprieve with things looking up for his professional life.
“In June, Majors landed his first role since his conviction joining the cast of the supernatural revenge thriller Merciless from filmmaker Martin Villeneuve.”
