Celebrated American singer and actress Selena Gomez is engaged to record producer Benny Blanco.
The pair have announced the good news through heartwarming posts shared on Instagram.
Selena uploaded several pictures with her 423 million followers on December 12, with the first being that of the huge diamond ring sitting on her finger.
“Forever begins now,” she captioned the slides.
More photos include one of a beaming Selena staring down at her ring in admiration, and another is of the pair wrapped up in an embrace as she shows it off to the camera.
Just 5 hours after the pair made the announcement, the post has received over 8.7 million likes, as fans of the couple, as well as industry colleagues, continue to shower them with congratulatory messages.
“Hey, wait a minute, that’s my wife,” Benny sweetly commented under his fiancé’s post.
“Wait, hold on,” rapper Cardi B wrote, before adding heart emojis.
Actress Lily Collins wrote: “Ahhhhhhhh yes yes yes!! Best news ever. Couldn’t be happier for you both.”
Daily Mail notes that Selena, 32, has been dating Benny, 36, since June 2023, though she did not confirm the relationship until that December.
“At the time, she used Instagram to confirm to fans that she’d been secretly dating the hit maker for six months and that he was her ‘absolute everything.’”
A source told Us Weekly how in love the pair were when they had just revealed their romance to the public, saying that the singer has “never been with anyone like” Benny.
“She loves how Benny treats her: he’s so kind and thoughtful,” the insider said in January. “It’s been a very long time since friends saw Selena this happy. She’s positively glowing.”
