Celebrated South African singer Tyla released the official video for her track Push 2 Start on November 8.

The opening scene is set in an auto garage/ car wash, with the singer looking stunning in an edgy grunge outfit. Right from the start, one can’t help but recall Rihanna’s Shut Up and Drive that offered a similar aesthetic.

The views are bright and sunny, with a summer feel, and at some point, Tyla and her team of dancers perform their choreography in front of a huge fan, reminiscent of the fan on Beyoncé’s iconic Crazy In Love video.

Bella Naija reports: “This release follows the deluxe version of her self-titled debut album, “Tyla,” which came out eight months after the original. The expanded album features three new tracks, including “Push 2 Start,” along with collaborations with South African artists Tony Duardo, Optimist, and Ez Maestro.”

“The original album included hits like “Water,” which earned a Grammy for Best African Music Performance and featured a remix with Travis Scott.”

Two days after the official visuals dropped, the video has already garnered just over 2.7 million views on YouTube.

One fan comments on the video sharing platform: “It’s giving Beyoncé and Rihanna. And since these two aren’t giving us this anymore, please do so Ms. Tyla. The torch is yours.”

Another writes: “Reminder to everyone who says “it’s giving Beyonce”. Beyonce’s choreography was African and Caribbean inspired. Tyla IS African. She’s basically remaining true to her roots!”

The 22-year-old has had major success in her career recently, gaining international recognition and growing her fanbase exponentially

“Music is a huge part of the family. We are very, very close and whenever we come together, we are singing and dancing. My gran was a singer in her day. And this was always the plan. I knew since the beginning. Everyone knew,” the talented singer told Vanity Fair about her passion.
