Day one of the highly anticipated Walker Town concert has been tainted by reports of a security breach.
The event, which headlined Nigerian superstar Rema, was all the rage, with organisers promising strict measures that would allow everyone to enjoy the festivities safely.
However, there was a major security violation when hundreds of youth forced entry into the Laureate Gardens in Kasarani where the show was underway.
Videos circulating on social media, and seen by this writer, show that trespassers overwhelmed security personnel and marched in, some even lifting barriers that had been set up.
“Gen Z Occupied Walker Town concert where Rema was set to perform, and entered the venue for free. This Generation Z . Fears God only!” Wrote one X user who shared footage of the youth storming into the venue.
One James Anyona captured a video of the trespassers in action, showing that the event became disorderly and risky with their arrival.
The video he shared on X has now been viewed over 40,000 times.
Another X user who goes by the name Byte Banter posted an even more chaotic clip, where throngs of youth were ignoring barriers and even running into the venue.
The popular social media personality Francis Gaitho noted on the platform that during the event, attendees began to shout out.
“Ruto Must Go chants dominated the Walker Town concert at Kasarani last night where the star performers were Rema and Ardee,” he reported.
“Just when status-quo degenerates were basking in the delusion that things are back to normal, they were reminded that the tranquility is a temporary facade. A time is coming when the revolution will go full-throttle.”
