Social media influencer and media personality Eve Mungai is making headlines for a recent candid interview, where she has opened up about her past relationship.
She and ex-partner, Director Trevor had appeared to be an unstoppable duo that mastered the art of working together while dating, but it all came crashing down when they split up early this year.
Both parties have since remained relatively vague while speaking about their past together, but now, Eve has gone into detail about what went wrong.
Speaking to Commentator 254 in an interview released last evening, she claimed that she had to do odd jobs to afford a lifestyle that was out of reach for Trevor and her at the time.
“We met before I joined campus in 2019. I loved photography, he was a photographer at the time. So I used to go to Thika for photoshoots. On this one day, the photographer that was supposed to come didn’t show up, and that’s when [Trevor] and I got to know each other,” she said of their early days together.
“It is so sad that so many young people end up in marriages or relationships because of situations. For me, I ended up in a come-we-stay marriage, because I didn’t want to stay at my parent’s home, and I didn’t have anywhere to go,” Eve said.
The entertainment host noted that she had been reflecting on her past, and came across troubling realizations in the process.
“I don’t even think there was love.”
Working together kept them together, Eve said, but their relationship was built on a weak foundation of the situations and circumstances around them.
“If there is someone that I have always given his flowers, it’s Trevor. I don’t have any issue with him. I’m always grateful to him. He taught me about YouTube… but people have all these narratives which I don’t like,” Eve said.
“He supported me, and I supported him, and we worked as a team.”
The media personality further detailed how she got through the break-up, and how she bounced back in the wake of Trevor taking control of the YouTube channels they shared.
“I felt that it was unfair that he kept the channels and accounts, because both of us worked really hard…But I felt I was prepared.”
