Kenyan content creator Mahala ‘Hali’ Oduor, who showcases fashion, lifestyle and travel content is getting ready for her wedding, and documenting the process for fans and viewers.
Since her magical engagement to fiancé Nathan Mixon in November last year, Hali has been taking followers through every step of the journey, from the details of wedding planning, to settling into a new life with her beau.
“The Moment. Nothing prepared me for this… @nathanmixonphotos you swept me off my feet, literally,” she wrote right after he popped the question, adding, “The girl that had a little camp crush 10 years ago would not believe this.”
The content creator and marketing manager also gushed about her ring, which she described as “a design that perfectly captured the essence of our love.”
She added that the new piece of jewellery is “an exquisite oval morganite with a beautiful pink to peachy-pink hue, flanked by natural diamonds, the ring sparkles with every glance.”
Hali’s wedding planning has steadily moved along from initial engagement celebrations to dress selection, and her “fiancé era” has been something like a fairytale.
“Today is the day I’m headed to my first bridal trial, and I’m so excited to have my mum by my side,” Hali said on a vlog as she embarked on the journey to find the perfect dress.
She captioned the post on Instagram: “From stunning gowns to precious moments with my mum and sister, this day was everything I hoped for and more. Stay tuned for the incredible journey of finding my dream dress.”
The influencer spoke to Agency Cliquish management company about the journey so far, even diving into her love story with Nathan.
“Right now I am currently on the path to get married, so a lot of my content is bridal focused. I’m really really enjoying this season,” she said.
“When we were 13 or 14, he had no idea who I was… a couple of years later we ended up at the same high school, connected a little bit in early college, but that didn’t work out.”
Hali noted that a little break gave them time to grow before the couple reconnected two and a half years ago.
“Having a community with you that stands by you has been really special in this time. It’s been really exciting to delve into that side when it comes to content creation of dress shopping, finding a caterer, and all the little things…even that has created community in my platform,” she said.
The content creator added that having her mum attend her first bridal appointment was one to remember, among many more heartwarming moments in the process.
“The most special things have been just those little sweet moments that you get to connect with family,” the bride-to-be added.
