Tanzanian singer and songwriter Zuchu Othman says she has parted ways with longtime boyfriend, Bongo superstar Naseeb Juma, better known as Diamond Platnumz.
The Sukari singer took to her Instagram account on November 12 to share the news with her fans, writing on a since-deleted upload seen by Habari Digital: “After three years of dating me and Naseeb have positively decided to call it quits. This was a mutual decision from both parties, we do have an upcoming project so don’t be surprised when it is released.”
Zuchu then wished her ex and record label Chief Executive the best as they continued on their journey apart.
“Asking my good people for your endless positive support as my main focus now is healing and my career.”
The couple have reportedly been through multiple ups and downs in their highly publicized relationship, with Zuchu questioning her beau’s commitment on multiple occasions.
Pulse Entertainment reports on one such incident when she put him on the spot during an April concert.
“During their joint performance, Zuchu seized the opportunity to introduce a twist to their hit song ‘Watasubiri,’ catching everyone off guard with her candid question directed at Diamond.”
The site added: “Diamond initiated the alteration by inserting new lyrics into their song, asking Zuchu if she would bear him a child: “Ati unanipenda mi, mmh, unanitaka pia, mmh, unaniamini, na utanizalia?”
Following Diamond’s verse, Zuchu chimed in with her rendition: “Unanipenda mimi, unanitaka piaaaa… Unaioa lini? ama unanitumia?… “[She] then rallied the crowd to encourage Diamond to marry her, playfully urging them to chant for the union.”
News that the two beloved Tanzanian stars were in a relationship hit the headlines in January 2022, after much speculation.
Diamond’s close friend and Wasafi FM presenter Juma Lokole revealed the information during a radio interview, noting at the time that they had been together for over a month.
