Jamaican singer and rapper Sean Paul is expected to perform in Kenya on December 1.

Organisers announced the exciting plans through an Instagram post shared on Who Said Events official page, as well as on M Tickets Events.

The celebrated artiste will grace the stage at the Waterfront 2 Gardens, Nairobi Jockey Club.

“The wait is over! We’re excited to announce the one and only Sean Paul is coming to Nairobi!” The post read, adding that the event promises to be an unforgettable night filled with the hottest reggae and dancehall vibes.

“Get ready to sing along to all his hits and dance the night away!”

The Grammy Award winning artiste was last in the country in 2004, when he performed at the Carnivore Grounds.

His performance at the time was described as “setting the city ablaze.”

Nation reported: “As the local MCs had intimated, it turned out to be a celebration of many of reggae music’s finest moments, re-invented Sean Paul style.”

“His songs blossomed to life, from the beat-box intro of Ever Blazin’, to the sweltering, soulful old school reggae of I’m Still In Love With You, to the bouncy staccato dancehall of most of his other songs.”

The iconic artiste spoke about the longevity of his career, and even touched on fatherhood in a 2023 interview published on his official website.

The report noted that Paul has been in the music game for over three decades; and is not stopping any time soon.

“Focusing more on singles during this stage of his career, versus albums, [he] recently dropped tracks Rebel Time with Beres Hammond and Nina Bonita with Feid. But for him, life these days is all about spending time with wife Jodie Stewart and their two young children, both born when the singer was in his 40s.”

The singer and rapper said: “Fatherhood is a new chapter of life for me, you know, I’m someone who did this late. But, they keep me feeling young, and remind me so much of myself. I think they are the best song I ever wrote. It’s all still new for me, but it’s such a blessing.”
