Oktobafest next door: Where to catch this year’s festivities

East Africa’s biggest beer festival, the Tusker Oktobafest, is back, and the highly anticipated fete will be taking place through exciting activations at various locations and regions, unlike previous editions.

Organisers report in a statement to Habari Digital that the change is intended to give fans a more intimate beer and music experience, and that those who had already purchased early bird tickets to attend the event at the original venue in Ngong Racecourse will receive full refunds.

“Throughout October, fans will be able to experience events right across the country. As we usher in Mashujaa Day, we’ll go even further with Kenyan acts across more venues, toasting with your favourite beers, all celebrating our culture and bringing vibes from all over, right next door.”

Now, Tusker has unveiled a series of regional activations and events set to take place in 10 different outlets across 5 regions on October 19, 26, and November 2, with an aim of giving beer lovers a good time within their local communities.

On Sunday October 19, activations will take place at Enkare (Kitengela), Texas Barbeque (Kikuyu) and Timbo XO (Eldoret).

Juja’s Burudani Address will host the drive on October 26, and so will Quiver-Thika Road.

More activations set for the same date include one at Moran (Nanyuki) and Club Da Place (Kikuyu).

November 2 outlets are New Sarvid Gardens (Kiambu Road), Daylight Grill (Thika) and New Big Tree (Mombasa).

Christine Kariuki, Marketing Manager at Tusker said: “This year, our goal is to ensure that the celebration reaches beyond Nairobi, delivering on our commitment to showcase the best of beer and local talent throughout Kenya.”

On selected dates, beer enthusiasts can enjoy their favorite brands at special retail prices in designated bars and restaurants across regions. Beer lovers can also look out for flash sales on platforms like Ke.thebar and other major e-commerce sites. During the activations, customers will be able to purchase five bottles of Tusker Lager or Balozi Lager for Sh 1000, or four bottles of other beer brands like Tusker Malt, Guinness, White Cap Lager, or Tusker Cider for the same price.

“This year marks a new chapter for Tusker Oktobafest as the festival expands its reach beyond Nairobi. By blending music, food, art, and beer, the regional activations provide a platform for local talent, vendors, and artists to showcase their work, helping to boost local economies and celebrate Kenya’s cultural diversity,” the statement by organisers adds.

Details of the artiste lineup will follow once unveiled.
