This weekend, Arusha will be hosting a one of a kind event for vehicle enthusiasts, and Kenya’s renowned comedian Daniel ‘Churchill’ Ndambuki will be in attendance.

The Churchill Show host took to his Instagram account to promote the fete, announcing that he will lead the trip there.

“All roads lead to Arusha,” he said on the 54 second clip shared with his 3 million followers.

“We’re seeking to break the Guinness Book of World Records. One thousand Land Rovers assembled in one place, it’s never happened. The last one ilifanyika (took place) in Germany, 632 cars.”

The function has been arranged to mark the 76th Anniversary of Land Rover.

“This event is a must-attend for any fan of the iconic brand. From classic models to the latest releases, this festival gives you the chance to explore and experience the rich history and dynamic innovations of Land Rover,” a statement on the Land Rover Festival’s official website reads in part.

There will be exciting off-road adventures at a nearby National park, interactive displays, and exclusive insider access to the world of Land Rover.

“There will be a selection of vendors and exhibitors, helping to make this a real social event that focuses on making new friends and meeting new people. With camping available on-site, we are confident that the event will continue to grow in popularity. Join us from Saturday 12th 08:00hrs to 14th October 2024.”

Tanzania’s The Citizen newspaper looks back at the last record-breaking fete which took place in Germany, noting that it stretched over 7.4 Kilometers, but Arusha wanted to beat this by stringing up Land-Rovers to over 12 Kilometers.

Arusha’s Regional Commissioner Paul Makonda said: “Among other reasons, the event aims at boosting tourism in the Arusha Region and The Northern Corridor at large.”

He noted that hundreds of Land Rover owners from all over the country have confirmed their participation in the event.
