World middle distance record holder Faith Kipyegon is hanging out with superstars after her hugely successful career season.
The renowned athlete met celebrated American Rapper Meg Thee Stallion in New York City soon after her most recent win on the track.
“The 30-year-old won a tactical affair in 4:04.79 at the Icahn Stadium and went a third consecutive year unbeaten in the 1500m. The last athlete to beat Kipeygon over 1500m was Sifan Hassan and that was all the way back at the Florence Diamond League in June 2021,” Athletics Weekly reports.
“Since then Kipyegon has won two world titles, become a triple Olympic champion and bettered her own world record to 3:49.04.”
The track star captured sweet moments interacting with the Savage rapper on her TikTok page, and the clip has been viewed over 150,000 times.
TV 47 reports: “The rapper, known for her dynamic stage presence and chart-topping hits, took to the stage to entertain the crowd following the day’s athletic achievements.”
“Megan’s energetic performance was a fitting tribute to the extraordinary talents displayed by athletes like Kipyegon, Brittany Brown, and Marileidy Paulino.”
Faith Kipyegon’s athletic success has been exponential, and she is beloved by Kenyans for carrying the country’s flag high.
“Kipyegon’s career is a good place to understand what’s gone right with Kenya’s athletics training system. The reasons for her success include her talent and work ethic, and her positive and humble attitude. But central is the nurturing environment she trained in,” The Conversation notes.
