Real or clout? Thee Pluto, Felicity Shiru announce break up
Content creator Thee Pluto, real name Robert Ndegwa, and his girlfriend of three years Felicity Shiru have announced their split.
Pluto shared a statement on his Instagram account, noting that he and Felicity would be keen to co-parent peacefully, but without giving any hint of the reason behind the break-up.
“We’ve decided to go our separate ways,” the announcement read, adding, “Thank you for the continued support from family, friends and fans. Let’s not speculate anything not to spread lies about the situation. We will co-parent peacefully to make sure our lovely daughter is not affected.”
The couple then asked for space to navigate the “challenging time.”
This is not the first time things have been rocky between the two- they broke up for some months back in 2021.
Pluto and Felicity shared with their fans that they had reunited at the time through a YouTube video. On the clip, they also opened up about what had led to the break up.
“I’m the one who left after getting tired with the relationship. I felt like the energy was not being reciprocated back the way I wanted and that’s why I left. But then Felicity was apologetic and we continued working together and being friends,’ Pluto said.
The pair announced that they were expecting a child soon after, and welcomed a baby girl together in November 2022.
Even as fans absorb the shock of the break-up, questions still linger about whether the announcement is real, or if it is just to gain clout- a go-to ploy by many local celebrities.
When a popular Instagram page, Nairobi Gossip Club shared a post on Pluto and Shiru’s split, fans had mixed reactions.
“Same old script,” wrote one Abuya.
“The only clout Kenyan celebrities know,” wrote one Jayden.
Another, Abby Memo wrote: “And how have Wahu and Nameless stayed married for 19years?”
