The hit Netflix series Young, Famous and African is set to return for its third season on January 17, 2025.

The show features a star- studded cast including Tanzanian Superstar Diamond Platnumz, Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan, South African actress and musician Khanyi Mbau, Nigerian model Annie Macaulay-Idibia and her iconic singer husband 2baba.

Celebrated South African Naked DJ and his girlfriend Kayleigh Schwark are also part of the celebrity cast, as are Zimbabwean- South African rapper Nadia Nakai and Nigerian fashion designer Swanky Jerry.

A teaser trailer released by the streaming giant shows that Nigerian actress Ini Edo joins the cast, with the show promising to dive deeper into the lives of Africa’s elite.

Zari Hassan’s husband Shakib Lutaaya will also make more appearances, while South African stars Andile Ncube and Bonang Matheba exit the show this coming season.

On Season Two, audiences were captivated by complex, sometimes intense storylines, as noted by Okay Africa.

The report lists notable moments on the show’s two earlier seasons, including Diamond Platnumz’ flirty moments with Ghanaian singer Fantana; and a fairytale vow renewal between Annie and 2baba Idibia after a rocky period in their marriage.

“Themes like surrogacy, slut-shaming, and male vulnerability mop out some of the cultivated vanity the show is steeped in. While it follows the rules of reality TV archetypes, the show might have developed its own charming pulse.”

More reports describe the show as “seriously binge worthy”, and “a showcase of Africa’s lavish, glamorous side.”

Elle Magazine notes: “Viewers who have been yearning for a show to bring the elements of successful series like Bling Empire and Selling Sunset to the African continent will want to meet the eccentrically vibrant cast of Young, Famous & African.”
