Corazon Kwamboka on co-parenting, career

The popular content creator Corazon Kwamboka has recently opened up about co-parenting with her ex, her law degree and the Genio Activewear business.

She had a sit down with Oga Obinna on a YouTube video which premiered on the evening of October 7, where she got candid about the subjects.

The influencer showed up to the show dressed in a jumpsuit from her own brand- and a quick check through the store’s online collection places the comfortable yet cute outfit at Sh5800.

“We’re very good friends,” she said of her ex, the popular fitness trainer Frankie ‘Just Gym It’ Kiarie.

“We are friends in need and friends indeed.”

The host hilariously probed further on the former couple’s current situation, and Corazon doubled down on her stance that they are just friends and good co-parents.

“I have moved on, and so has he. Kila mtu ako na maisha yake (we’re living separate lives).”

The content creator noted that a tough period of postpartum depression came around the same time the two experienced a rough patch in their relationship, catalyzing the relationship breakdown.

“A lot of women go through that… so during that time, you may start self-analysing and getting realisations. I was like you know what? I need time by myself to just figure things out,” Corazon said.

She dived into her conception and pregnancy journey, revealing that while her first baby came as a surprise, the second-born, her daughter, was planned for.

Both children brought immense joy to Corazon, who had struggled with endometriosis and a fear that she would not be able to conceive.

Speaking about her education and career, the socialite said that she had always been a top student, never having attained a grade less than a B.

“You know how in law school it’s so hard to pass all the nine units? I was among the ten per cent who had nine over nine.”

Corazon also said that she is not practicing law because of certain factors that discouraged her- specifically when it came to being harassed and heavily pursued at the office.

“This is a problem that a lot of curvy girls face. Everywhere that I got a job…this is the experience that I had…the boss, the director… whoever, wote wanataka kunikatia (they all want to pursue me).”

“I had that experience like three times in places that I worked. Imagine if you have earned your place at that workplace, you haven’t gone there because you have a big ‘booty’… and now you want to make me [do certain sexual things] like why?”

The content creator held firmly that she does not exchange sex for favours, and finds that behavior in the corporate world distasteful and unprofessional.

Those are the factors that took her from the law firms and onto our screens, when she became the beloved socialite that she is.

“I’m still an Advocate of the High Court. My practicing certificate is still very much valid,” she said.

On balancing being a single mum and her Genio Activewear business, Corazon noted that compartmentalizing and proper planning works best for her.

“I know this time is for the gym, then I try to give my kids the most amount of time that I can, and then do everything else.”

“It’s not easy, so to every mum that is doing it- You are doing amazing.”
