Samidoh Muchoki has announced that he and long serving manager and friend Moses Marite are no longer working together.
The celebrated Mugiithi singer took to his Instagram account to share a photograph of Marite, along with a note that advised fans to reach the singer’s entertainment company directly for work-related inquiries.
“Take notice that Samidoh Entertainment terminated all services of one Moses Kimani Marite, whose photo appears. Take further notice that he is not authorized to transact any business, negotiate, or enter into any contract on behalf of Samidoh.”
The move is not further explained, but left fans concerned and shocked.
Some in the comments asked what had led to their parting, while others expressed that the post was rather harsh.
“Termination of employment should not go this far until publishing someone’s face unless you want to punish,” wrote one Kariithi.
“This is sad to hear honestly, Marite has always been good while engaging him on Samido events. Whatever happened…” wrote one Nimo.
Pulse Entertainment reports that this unexpected move has caught many in the Kenyan entertainment industry by surprise, as Marite had been a constant presence in Samidoh’s career, contributing significantly to his rise to stardom.
“The duo had enjoyed a close professional relationship, which makes this parting of ways even more striking.”
Samidoh has been flying high in his career, which kicked off in 2016 when he recorded his first single Ndiri Mutwi Mwega.
“To date, the song has amassed more than 1.6 million views on the YouTube channel, which is a rare feat for Kikuyu Benga songs. Samidoh’s style of music is a one-man guitar,” an entertainment blog reports on his craft.
