American actress Tia Mowry has revealed that she and twin sister Tamera don’t talk as much as she’d like these days.

Footage from Tia’s new reality TV series ‘Tia Mowry: My Next Act’ was released by Entertainment Tonight, and on it, the actress emotionally opens up going through a divorce and being unable to lean on her sister.

“The family dynamic of having a mum and a dad in one household…And when you’re dropping your kids off, you visually see how that is no longer,” Tia tearfully says on the clip.

She adds: “It’s times like this that I feel and [wish] that my sister and I were still close. And I could pick up the phone and call her, but that’s just not where we are right now.”

Tia and her estranged husband, actor Cory Hardrict, announced the end of their 14-year marriage in 2022.

Cory has been open about how tough the divorce has been on him emotionally, revealing in an interview that he “cried himself to sleep” every night while dealing with the grief.

“It’s tough when it feels like you’re going through something alone and no one understands, and no one’s there for you,” he told fans at the American Black Film Festival in June.

“People who know me, know that my kids and family were everything to me. I’m stronger than I thought I was. By the grace of God, I’m here, and I’m still going.”

Essence Magazine reports: “The couple had two children, son Cree, 12, and daughter Cairo, 6. The divorce news shocked their fans when Mowry shared they were splitting on social media.”

Tia and Tamera Mowry are best known locally for their early work on the hit 90s American television sitcom Sister Sister.

UK’s Metro reports: “The twins had their own reality TV show, Tia and Tamera, from 2011 to 2013 which gave viewers an inside look into their lives.”

“But they’ve also had successful careers away from each other, launching their own books and appearing on podcasts while also scoring TV roles in their own right.”
