SACCO members urged to apply for loans to grow their businesses
Members of the Lodwar Fresh Produce Savings and Credit Cooperative Society have been urged to apply for loans to grow their businesses.
Speaking during the handing over of the SACCO’s registration certificate, County Director for Co-operatives Development and Marketing, Shemmy Ekuwom urged members to capitalize on the cooperative’s platform to access additional funding from the SACCO.
The chairperson Elizabeth Kuri received the Registration certificate which now allows them to undertake the objectives of the SACCO as guided the their By- Laws.
Ekuwom added that members stand to benefit from other County Government grants and loans, as well as other financial institutions, to enhance their business growth.
The significant milestone targeting to benefit traders at the Lodwar Fresh Produce Market happened during the cooperatives’ inaugural general meeting.
The development, a massive boost to small-scale traders in Lodwar, offers new membership opportunities, along with access to savings and loan services aimed at supporting business establishment, growth, and expansion.
Ruth Kuya, Lodwar Township Area Member of the County Assembly, also encouraged the traders to grow their business through savings and loaning and she also promised to follow up on infrastructure lacking at the new market to make it operational.
With nine board members inaugurated and charged with the responsibility of managing and steering the new Cooperative to higher heights, the target traders can now start enjoying loans and saving services.
In attendance were staff from the Directorate of Cooperatives Development and Marketing
